The TCB is based on proprietary algorithms that according to the movement of the MEMS mirror (by sync signals coming from the controller) generates timestamps, enabling the laser driver to turn on the laser (“pixel out”) and also to synchronize the light sensors (e.g., SPAD, Photo Diode, etc.). The scanning is done synchronized to a sensor that sees only the desired image (either laser dots in case of TOF or a full image in the case of structured light). The deflection is done in a specific scanning mode that covers the entire target area, pixel after pixel. Take a laser (at a specific desired wavelength), and diverge the laser light beam to different places on a target area by using a tiny MEMS scanning mirror.
